We have chosen to develop curriculum within the framework of Project-Based Learning because the project approach offers children a learning environment that:
Projects will tackle a specific issue or will study a relevant theme from different perspectives, will be multidisciplinary in nature and will be aligned to academic standards. Students will have support from teachers, mentors, parents, industry experts, community leaders, government representatives, and organizations that care about the topic under study. The school will become a hub for knowledge creation and exchange, a vibrant community where we all dream big, find our voice and pursue our passions.
- Supports children in developing their sense of competence and worth, building self-esteem along the way
- Creates a classroom culture in which children’s points of view are taken seriously and treated with respect
- Offers the opportunity for children to learn with confidence from their mistakes
- Encourages decision making where genuine choices can be made
- Empowers students to become active learners
